About
A small, homely café on Dean Street, a few steps from St Patrick's Cathedral.
Cathedral Cafe opened on 8 February 2011 on Dean Street, Dublin 8, a few steps from St Patrick's Cathedral. It was founded by Trevor Lee, who spotted a "To Let" sign at a former hairdresser's across the road from his own flat. His friend Teresa Varela was involved from the start and took over running the café day to day about eighteen months after it opened.
Inside, exposed brickwork and wooden beams have replaced the original wallpaper and ornaments since a partition wall came down. A statue of the Virgin Mary stands by the front door, religious icons are dotted around the room, and a neon sign reads "Karma".
